99% of our stock is pre-used, although you wouldn't immediately think so.We BUY and SELL all types of musical instruments and equipment. Part exchange and swap deals are always possible. See something you like, but haven't got the money now? We'll help you find a way to own it!

We know our stuff !!! Simon Catherall, the owner of The Music Project, is a musical instrument historian with a special interest in guitars and saxophones. Advice and verbal information is free. There is normally a small charge for written valuations, certificates of authenticity, and insurance quotations.

Saxophones and guitars are our specialities at The Music Project, but we love ANYTHING musical, and especially if it's UNIQUE! Bozoukis, balilaikas, crystal flutes, one string violins, double basses, sousaphones and swanee saxophones can often be seen in the shop!

The Music Project store is based in Wallasey, only 5 minutes drive from Liverpool city centre, through the Mersey tunnel, and only a few minutes from the end of the M-53. Nearby we have a warehouse which houses our huge collection of vintage guitars, vintage amps and memorabilia . (Viewing by appointment only)

Our opening hours are 10am to 5.30pm Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Simon is nearly always available outside these hours by appointment.

We will add to our website soon an online ordering facility, offering a simple, safe and reliable method of purchasing our more regular stock items and accessories. In the mean time we encourage you to communicate with us via telephone and by using e-mail. Payment can be made by most types of credit/debit cards, personal or business cheques, postal and money orders, and cash.

We can ship any item anywhere. When enquiring about our instruments please ask us for a shipping quote.
